7/8/08 - Twin Valley will bid farewell to two regular starters from the 2007-08 semi-finalist team. Candon and Connor Rusin will be making the move to Topsail High School in Hampstead, North Carolina. Candon is entering his senior year, while Connor will be a sophomore. Candon ends his Twin Valley career as the second leading scorer in TV hoops history with 1,469 points, behind only David Rosso's 1,827. Connor set the mark for the highest rebounding average for a season in 07-08 and a career with 9.7 rebounds per game. The Rusin boys will be missed by the Wildcat family. Good luck boys!

4/6/08 - Junior, guard Candon Rusin was selected to the Burlington Free Press All-State 1st team. Candon was also a first team selection last season. Joining Candon on the first team were Joe O'Shea (Burlington), Clancy Rugg (Burlington), Matt Joslin (North Country) and Greg Hughes (West Rutland).

3/15/08 - Junior, guard Candon Rusin was named as the VBCA Player of the Year. He shared the award with Burlington's sophomore sensation Joe O'Shea. Rusin was also named to Vermont's Dream Dozen team as one of the state's top underclassmen. Rusin was also selected as an All-MVL 1st team player. He was joined by his teammates Scott Hayford and Ian Marquis in the MVL, as the two were named to the 2nd team.

2/28/08 - The Lake Region Rangers proved to be too much for the #3 Twin Valley Wildcats in the Division 3 semi-finals. The Rangers ended the Wildcats season, handing them a 72-60 loss at the Barre Auditorium. Candon Rusin had 30 points for the Wildcats, while Ian Marquis added 16 points and 16 rebounds. The Wildcats finish their season with the best record in school history at 19 - 4.

2/23/08 - The # 3 seeded Wildcats punched their tickets to the Barre Auditorium with a 75 - 47 victory over the 11th seed Peoples Wolves. Candon Rusin poured in 37 points, while Ian Marquis contributed 10 points and 8 rebounds. The Wildcats push their record to 19 - 3. They will face the Lake Region Rangers in the semi-final round.

2/18/08 - The # 3 seeded Wildcats delivered a convincing 95 - 51 victory over the #14 seeded Rebels of Leland & Gray. Candon Rusin led the scoring attack with 31 points. Joel Adame added 13 points and Ian Marquis and Connor Rusin eached chipped in with 11 points each, with Marquis adding 12 rebounds and Rusin adding 8 rebounds. The Wildcats advance to the Division III Quarter-finals and push their record to 18 - 3.

2/14/08 - With a 61 - 56 home victory over the, the Wildcats snapped the Proctor Phantoms 49 game winning streak. The Wildcats end the regular season with the best record in school history at 17 - 3. The Wildcats were led in scoring by Candon Rusin with 21 points and senior Derek Cipriano with 14 points. TV also honored their 4 seniors, Derek Cipriano, Corey Colford, Ian Marquis and Joel Adame before playing in their final home game.

2/12/08 - Twin Valley defeated Leland & Gray for the 8th consecutive time with a final score of 82 - 42. The Wildcats pushed their record to 16 - 3 and await the tournament pairings. Candon Rusin led the attack with 34 points and Connor Rusin had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Eric Froment added 11 points and Scott Hayford added a career high 10 assists.

2/8/08 - Twin Valley exploded in front of the home crowd for a 75 - 34 victory over the Arlington Eagles. The Wildcats pushed their record to 15 - 3. Candon Rusin led in scoring with 33 points, while Scott Hayford chipped in 12 and George Molner added 9.

2/4/08 - The Wildcats dropped a heartbreaker to the undefeated Proctor Phantoms 44 -39. Proctor, who owns a 47 game unbeaten streak trailed 39 - 32 with 4 minutes to go in the game. They ended the game on a 12 - 0 scoring run to win. Twin Valley was led by Candon Rusin with 27 points and Ian Marquis with 16 rebounds and 5 blocks. Scott Hayford, Joel Adame and Derek Cipriano did a great job containing Proctor's two big scoring weapons. TV is now 14 - 3.

1/29/08 - The Wildcats went to 14 - 2 overall and 8 - 2 in the MVL with a 67 - 58 home victory over the Black River Presidents. Candon Rusin led in scoring with 35 points. He added 15 rebounds as well. Eric Froment also scored in double figures with 14 points, while Ian Marquis chipped in with a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.

1/26/08 - The West Rutland Golden Horde handed the Wildcats their second loss of the season, 67 - 47. Twin Valley's record is now 13 - 2. The Wildcats were led by Candon Rusin with 16 points and Connor Rusin with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Derek Cipriano added 11 points.

1/22/08 - Twin Valley won their sixth straight game with a 62 - 50 road victory over the Arlington Eagles. Candon Rusin led the way with 25 points and 7 steals, while Scott Hayford chipped in 9 points and 5 steals. The Wildcats are now 13 - 1.

1/19/08 - The Wildcats jumped out to their best start in school history with a 67 - 55 home victory over the South Royalton Royals. Candon Rusin exploded for 37 points and 12 rebounds. Eric Froment had a great game in his second start of the season with 14 points. The Wildcats are now 12 - 1.

1/16/08 - The Wildcats pushed their record to 11 - 1 on the season with a home victory over the Leland & Gray Rebels, 86 - 58. Candon Rusin led in scoring with 27 points, along with 10 assists. Eric Froment added 13 points and Derek Cipriano added a career high 12 points.

1/12/08 - All 10 Wildcats that suited up scored as TV beat Rivendell 77 - 37. Scott Hayford led the attack with 16 points, Candon Rusin scored 12 points and Eric Froment added 10. Connor Rusin had a TV record 21 rebounds to go with 8 points.

1/7/08 - The Wildcats grinded out a 56 - 49 win in front of their home crowd over the Green Mountain Chieftains. Candon Rusin had 35 points, while Scott Hayford filled up the stat sheet with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 steals and 2 big three-pointers down the stretch. TV is now 9 - 1.

1/4/08
- Twin Valley came out of Ludlow with a 79 - 67 victory over the host Black River Presidents. The Wildcats were led in scoring by Candon Rusin with 37 points, Ian Marquis with 14 points, Scott Hayford with 11 points and Connor Rusin with 10 points. The Wildcats are now 8 - 1.

1/2/08
- The West Rutland Golden Horde came into Twin Valley's gym and handed them their first loss of the season, 72 - 65. The Wildcats rallied from a 17 point 3rd quarter deficit to tie the game at 61 in the 4th, but could not close the deal. TV was led by Candon Rusin with 33 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Connor Rusin pitched in with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Scott Hayford added 12 points of 4 three pointers. The Wildcats are currently 7-1.

1/2/08 - Candon Rusin, a junior guard scored his 1,000th career point against West Rutland. Rusin needed 1 point coming into the game and ended with 33. He scored his 1,000th point on a free throw 27 seconds into the game. Congratulations Candon!

12/29/07 - Twin Valley captured their first Green Mountain Holiday Tournament title with a convincing 64 - 43 win over Thetford. TV jumped to an early lead and never looked back. Candon Rusin led the Wildcat attack with 23 points, while Ian Marquis added 15 points and 12 rebounds and Eric Froment chipped in with 13 points, including 3 three-pointers. The Wildcats improve to 7 - 0.

12/28/07 - The visiting Wildcats handed the host, Green Mountain Cheiftains, a 78-49 loss in the first round of the Green Mountain Holiday Tournament. The victory marked the 6th straight to start the young season for the Wildcats. Twin Valley was led by Candon Rusin with 21 points, which leaves him 24 short of 1,000 career points heading into the Championship game against Thetford. Joel "Jo Jo" Adame chipped in 10 points, while Senior Corey Colford contributed 7 assists off the bench.

12/21/07 - The Wildcats went into Poultney and came away with their largest margin of victory in school history. They defeated the Blue Devils 85 - 42. TV was led by Candon Rusin with 34 points and 8 three-pointers. Ian Marquis added 10 points and 8 rebounds, including his first career dunk and Connor Rusin added 6 points and 12 boards. The Wildcats move to 5 - 0 on the young season.

12/17/07 - The hometown Wildcats proved to be too much for the visiting Bellows Falls Terriers as TV erupted for a 76 - 43 win. The Wildcats were led by Candon Rusin with 30 points, 26 coming in the first half, JoJo Adame chipped in with 12 points and 4 steals and Scott Hayford had 8 points and 5 assists. Ian Marquis and Connor Rusin controlled the glass for the Wildcats, pulling in 9 and 12 rebounds.

12/14/07 - Twin Valley snuck out of South Royalton with their first ever road victory over the Royals. The final score was 51 - 44 after a slow start by the Wildcats. The Royals led 18 - 6 after 1 quarter, but from then on it was all TV. The Wildcats were led by Candon Rusin with 17 points, Ian Marquis with 14 points and 8 boards and Derek Cipriano with 8 points, including 2 big 3 pointers down the stretch.


12/8/07 - The Wildcats went on the road for the first time this season and came away with a 57 - 53 win over D3 powerhouse Thetford. In a back and forth game, Twin Valley came out on top hitting 5 of 8 free throws in the final 3 minutes. The Wildcats were led by Candon Rusin with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Scott Hayford contributed 13 points and 4 assists.

12/4/07 - The Wildcats opened up their season with a 71 - 55 victory over the Poultney Blue Devils in Wilmington. Twin Valley was led in scoring by Candon Rusin with 30 points and Scotty Hayford with 14. Ian Marquis led the team in rebounding with 13 and Connor Rusin pitched in 8 points and 9 rebounds.

11/14/07 - The Twin Valley Boy's varsity basketball team was named on Tuesday. Derek Cipriano, Corey Colford, Ian Marquis, Candon Rusin, George Squiers, Joel Adame, Eric Froment, Scott Hayford, Skyler Duncan, Connor Rusin, Troy Birch and George Molner make up the team.
